Patricia Ann Moreland (Krause)

Patricia Ann Moreland (Krause) passed away peacefully with family on March 4, 2023, at her home in San Marino, California.
She was born on September 9, 1938, to George and Ruth Krause in Spokane, Washington, and was raised in Spokane and Wilbur, Washington.
Pat attended the University of Washington, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education, was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority and met her beloved husband, Donald Robert Moreland. They were married for 51 years before Don passed away in 2012.
Pat lived in Germany for three years while Don was commissioned in the U.S. Army. Afterwards, they relocated to California, where she was a resident of San Marino for 50 years.
Pat was an active volunteer in the San Marino school system for many years, was a PTA president and received multiple community service awards. She was a life member of the Assistance League of Pasadena, where she enjoyed helping seniors. She used her teaching skills when volunteering at the Huntington Library as a docent for over 30 years. She loved her friends in P.E.O. Chapter HM, the Pasadena Guild of the Huntington Hospital, the Town Club, Sustainers of the Pasadena Junior League, Pasadena Garden Club, and the Pasadena Alumnae Chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta.
Pat loved being active. She enjoyed playing tennis at Live Oaks Tennis Club, relaxing at the Jonathan Club, golfing at Annandale, planting flowers in her garden, needlepoint, and her book club. She was never without a book. She had many wonderful trips around the world with her family and friends. In her later years, she enjoyed playing mahjong and bridge with her friends. She loved life and was a giver, modest and unassuming.
Pat’s greatest love was her family. The times spent with her family brought her the most joy. She is survived by her adored sons and their families — Donald Robert Jr. (D.R.) and his twins, Henry, and Tabitha; and Thomas Krause, his partner, Erin, his three children, Katelyn, Tommy and Spencer and her daughters, Avery and Emma. She is survived by her only brother whom she loved, Joel Krause, and his wife, Rola. She also leaves behind her niece Amy Ritchy and her family, and her nephews Joel and Paul and his family.
Pat was graceful with tremendous strength and had a heart of gold. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
