On the morning of August 20, William, “Bill” Wittick, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed on following a long illness. He was 86.

Bill was born in Evanston, Illinois. He and his mother, Catherine Greer, moved to California when Bill was 2 years old. The family, now including stepfather, Ben Noble, built a home in La Cañada and moved here in 1951, where he spent most of his life.

Following college, he served in the Marine Corps. After his honorable discharge, he worked for the L.A. Times in marketing. After introducing a new product from New Zealand to the U.S. in 1973, Bill became a marketing VP for Vet Brand, where he continued to work for more than 30 years.

Bill married Kathleen Zube in 1979. They raised their two daughters in the La Cañada School system.

Bill is survived by his wife, Kathleen; his daughter Catherine Lucas, her husband Joe Lucas and their two daughters, Grace and Cate; his daughter Courtney Forgues, her husband Quentin and their five children, Ethan, Keziah, Dillon, Justin and Ruby.

A memorial service for family and close friends will be held October 1 in Newport Beach.
