The temperature was rising — and it wasn’t surprising — as the Rotary Club of San Marino held its annual Chili Cook-Off. Nine entries were submitted by Rotary members and San Marino firefighters to compete for the 2019 “best chili” title. The results were:
• Best chili (judges’ vote): Russ Osmonson’s “Naughty Sauce”
• Best chili (members’ vote): Dennis Kneier and Mitch Lehman’s “Little Paul’s Tummy”
• Most unusual: San Marino Fire Department’s “Cowboy Chili”
• Hottest: Engy Gawish’s Egyptian “Foule Chili”
• “I Want This Recipe”: Channi Kaur’s Indian-inspired “Chicken Masala Chili”
