Each year, the San Marino Schools Foundation hosts its New Family Welcome at which the parents of kindergarteners and pre-kindergarteners can meet school administrators, faculty members and other school personnel. This year’s event, held recently at the Old Mill, was a sociable evening of mingling and meet-and-greets, and about 150 people attended. SMSF President Erin Bilvado, whose organization strives to bridge the funding gap between the state’s support of the San Marino Unified School District and what the local system needs to provide for outstanding programs, spoke briefly about the excitement of the annual event and thanked attendees from the district.
