At their November meeting at the Crowell Public Library, San Marino Garden Club members enjoyed a special seasonal centerpiece workshop presented by Arcadia florist Margit Holakoui. Members and guests each created a garland to use for the upcoming holiday season. Special guest Celia Kalm showed attendees a garland-making device she invented. The club welcomed new member Christa Lakon.
Besides having the meeting, the club dedicated a bench in Lacy Park to honor Leslie Noelle LienJun Mar, who died in July 2018 in a hiking accident. The bench is one of the only two located in the inner circle of the park and has a great vantage point. Members’ generosity was so great that there will be an additional bench in honor of Mar, a daughter of Patricia and Tom Mar and a graduate of San Marino High School and Washington State University.
This month, the club will hold its annual holiday tea at a private home in San Marino.
