The San Marino Garden Club recently held its annual kickoff luncheon, with President Debra Spaulding welcoming nearly 60 members and guests. The meeting, which was co-chaired by Shana Bayat and Birgit Castleman, included a special presentation by Lisa Cardella of Ixora Floral Studio on “Tablescapes for Entertaining: Linen, China and Flower Arrangement Ideas.” New members Connie Knott and Ileana Mutch were also welcomed to the club.
The group recently received a Blue Ribbon Certificate of Achievement from California Garden Clubs Inc. for outstanding accomplishments, meritorious achievements, creativity and ingenuity in a variety of activities. The club’s next meeting and program will be a hands-on seasonal planter demonstration by Bayat, Castleman and Spaulding on Nov. 13 at 10 a.m. at Crowell Public Library.
