HMS%20Celebrates%20Its%20Trustworthy%20Good%20Citizens

Huntington Middle School’s October Good Citizenship Breakfast recently took place on campus. Students who exhibited trustworthiness — the month’s theme — enjoyed a continental breakfast with Assistant Principal Rick Barclay in the library. The quality of trustworthiness is part of what author, professor and parent Angela Duckworth identifies as interpersonal character strengths, or “strengths of heart.” These include empathy, honesty, gratitude and social and emotional intelligence. The school emphasizes the importance of these strengths with its students because they are qualities that will help them get along with and contribute to the lives of others.
