Approximately 75 3rd-graders completed their bike licenses and riding assessments at Valentine Elementary School last week at the Valentine Bike Safety Rodeo. The event, coordinated by Debby Merryman, Alli McCroskey, Laura Repstad and Zeina Daoud, licensed bikes and assessed 3rd-graders for riding ability. The part-safety, part-licensing event brought together 11 parents and four officers from the San Marino Police Department. The assessment tested riders on their knowledge of road safety for bike riders and their ability to ride in a straight line, turn and speed.
