The Huntington Library, Art Museum and Botanical Gardens celebrated the Lunar New Year and the Year of the Dragon with a festival on Feb. 10 and 11.
The family-friendly event featured lion dancers, a mask-changing artist, martial arts demonstrations, Chinese music, arts and crafts demonstrations, Chinese floral arts displays and more.
The festivities took place in the Chinese Garden and other performance spaces. Program highlights on Feb. 10 included live music by the Han Music Ensemble and Chinese Kwun Opera Society in the Chinese Garden. There were also martial arts demonstrations by Shaolin Temple Cultural Center USA and K-STAR Contortion and Martial Arts, as well as lion dancers featuring Northern Shaolim Kung Fu on the East Lawn near the Huntington Art Gallery. Plus, mask-changing artist Wei Qi Zhong performed inside Haaga Hall.
