Dean Francis Glasse, 1961-2024, a cherished husband, dedicated father, brother, and friend passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, May 5th, 2024, at the age of 62.

Born on December 25, 1961, to Susan Brown and Frank Glass in Los Angeles, California, Dean was a cornerstone of the San Marino community, where his presence enriched the lives of all who knew him. Today, we celebrate his remarkable life as we witness another angel ascend to heaven.

Dean’s earlier years began on Bonsall Dr. in Malibu, California, where he attended Malibu Junior High and Santa Monica High School. His love for all things was nurtured through the ’70s Malibu scene, where he spent his time dirt biking through the hills of Malibu and Bonsall Canyon, surfing Zuma Beach and sharing his love for music with those around him. The warmth and vitality of the Malibu community helped cultivate many core aspects of who he was, allowing him to live a life of authenticity.

Dean was a lifelong innovator, visionary, and entrepreneur, spearheading numerous successful ventures in product manufacturing, graphic design, and technology. His limitless imagination was evident in his renowned companies like Popworks, GWhiz, Blabbuddy, and others. Most recently, he was the founder, CEO, and head software engineer of Byte of Pi. Dean’s expertise in various fields set him apart, making him a respected figure in these industries.

Dean and Diana married in 1998 after a two-year courtship. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter while raising their three children: Ian, Kira, and Hali Glasse. Dean embraced fatherhood with unwavering dedication and love, cherishing this role above all else. If you asked him, he would say his greatest accomplishment was undoubtedly being a father to his kids. Whether coaching his children in soccer, little league, flag football, or softball, he never failed to miss a sports event or performance. Dean enjoyed spending his time playing music, jammin’ out with his daughter Hali or his friends, fishing, being with the dogs, being with his kids, going to the beach, and most importantly giving. His generosity extended beyond his family; Dean was a giver at heart. He put everyone’s needs before his own, lending a helping hand to anyone regardless of their background. He approached life with an unconditional spirit, embracing every moment with genuine kindness and open arms.

Dean Glasse is survived by his wife Diana Glasse of 26 years, son Ian Glasse, daughters Kira Glasse, Hali Glasse, mother Susan Glass, father Frank Glass, step mother Teresa Andersen, sister Angelica Andersen, brother Mark Ballan, dogs Poppy, Dice, Clover, many loving nieces, nephews, extended family, and preceded by Bridgette Andersen.
