Phyllis M. Pascarella

Phyllis M. Pascarella, age 93, passed away on July 25, 2020 at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, CA. She was born August 27, 1926 in Ridgeway, PA to Louis and Lucy DelPozzo. She married William E. Pascarella Sr. on June 25, 1949. The two traveled extensively during their 57 years of marriage before Bill passed away in 2006.
Phyllis played a very active role in her children’s lives serving on the PTA at Carver Elementary in San Marino. Phyllis helped on the board with various PTA functions and activities. She also was active in the Girl Scouts of America when her daughter was a member. For 38 years Phyllis served as a volunteer at Huntington Memorial Hospital where she met plenty of lifetime friends. While there, she performed various duties including her favorite, working in the gift shop. She also worked at Treasure Fair Thrift Store in Pasadena for years helping to raise money for a charity she was passionate about. The thrift store’s proceeds go to the Assistance League of Pasadena, which in turn help transform the lives of children and adults through community programs.
In addition, she was a parishioner and a member of St. Felicitas and Perpetua and the Italian Catholic Federation. Phyllis volunteered whenever possible from working the pizza booth at the annual church carnival to making her “famous” chicken salad for their annual tea. Her many friends and family will remember her fondly as a very unselfish giving woman with a keen sense of humor and an avid Dodger fan since 1958.
Phyllis is survived by her brother Louie DelPozzo, her son William E. Pascarella Jr., daughter and son-in-law Susan and Keith Burhans, six grandchildren Will, Kyle, Daniel, Austin, Mason and Dylan plus three great-grandchildren Ellie, Eli and Zhavia. All of whom she loved and touched deeply. A small rosary was held at Cabot and Sons in Pasadena followed by a graveside service at Resurrection Cemetery in Rosemead, CA. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Assistance League of Pasadena.
