DocWalks4Animals Golf Tournament to Feature Champion

First published in the Sept. 3 print issue of the Glendale News-Press.

The second annual DocWalks4Animals Charity Golf Tournament on Friday, Sept. 9, will give participants a chance to compete with 2014 LPGA British Open champion Mo Martin.
The tournament is being held at Brookside Golf Course near the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, with a tee off at 1 p.m. All players will have a chance to bid on playing nine holes with Martin, an Altadena native who honed her game at a private golf club in Pasadena. Following the tournament, there will be a cocktail reception, silent auction and an awards dinner buffet in the clubhouse.
Proceeds from this charity tournament will benefit the Wildlife Learning Center in Sylmar. Founded to provide public education in the life sciences, conservation and our environment, the WLC is a zoological park nestled in an old olive grove in the San Fernando Valley. Funds will go toward the purchase of an on-site ultrasound machine and other needed medical equipment for the care of the animals.
Even if you cannot play in the tournament, those interested can donate to this cause by visiting docwalks4animals.org.
