Salvation Army Kettle Kickoff Breakfast Is Nov. 18

First published in the Oct. 6 print issue of the Pasadena Outlook.

The Salvation Army will host its ninth annual Kettle Kickoff Breakfast on Friday, Nov. 18, at the Salvation Army Pasadena Tabernacle at 960 E. Walnut. The event begins at 7 a.m.
The theme of this year’s Salvation Army breakfast is “Love Beyond,” which is inspired by Peter 4:8: “Above all, love.” The goal of the breakfast is to “increase public awareness of the Salvation Army’s year-round services, expanding the image of the red kettle and Christmas toys to an everyday Army that serves as the nation’s top provider of social services, not only during the holidays but throughout the year,” a spokesperson said in a statement.
The emcee will be longtime television weatherman Fritz Coleman, and the special guest speaker is local resident Carmine Sabatella, the host of HGTV’s “Inside Out.”
“With the year-round high cost of living, the time to help our neighbors in need has never been greater than right now,” according to a Salvation Army statement. “Every year since 1883, the Salvation Army has been collecting donations in the Pasadena area to help those in most need. Please help the Salvation Army Pasadena Tabernacle ‘Do the Most Good’ this holiday season by sponsoring a table or donating online via our virtual kettles.”
