The San Marino Schools Foundation and the San Marino Unified School District thanked several of the major donors who in 2005 made possible the installation of a $3 million synthetic athletic field and state-of-the-art track and field facility at Titan Stadium at halftime during the Oct. 30 49-0 victory over La Cañada. This past summer, a scheduled $750,000 refurbishment was completed using funds from the original campaign and a contribution from the school district.
Lisa and Tim Sloan, Avery and Andy Barth, Amy and Jules Buenabenta and Kevin McCloskey – representing Crown City United Soccer Club – were in attendance and received football signed by the Rio Hondo League champion Titan varsity football team. Lorrie and Greg Forgatch were also honored, though not on hand for the game and ceremony.
“Tonight, we honor those families and the others who made possible this keystone in our effort to deliver world-class excellence in education,” said a statement that was read during the halftime ceremony.
