Iconic Community, School Newspapers Will Share Content, Distribution.

In a revolutionary agreement announced this week, the San Marino Tribune and The Titan Shield – the student newspaper of San Marino High School – will join resources and share distribution avenues. Beginning with this edition, The Titan Shield will each week publish a full page of student-produced content.
“Partnering with the San Marino Tribune allows us an opportunity for our student journalists to get real life experience,” said Jose Cairé, advisor to The Shield. “This is an exciting opportunity for both publications. We thank the Tribune for this opportunity and look forward to a strong relationship.”
“We are very thankful to the administrators and staff members at the high school and the district office,” said Tribune publisher Andy Salter. “We as a newspaper have worked very closely with students at San Marino High School for many, many years. This partnership signals a natural progression of this relationship.”
Valerie Wang and Trevor Davis, co-editors of the Titan Shield, also voiced optimism. “This is a great opportunity to partner up in order to reach more of the community,” said Valerie, a senior. “We are very excited to explore this new avenue.”
“All of us here at the Titan Shield are very excited about this arrangement,” said Mr. Davis. “We believe it will lead to a great future for both publications.”
Each week, a full page of Titan held content will appear in The Tribune. The two organizations will also share on-line entries.
