Man Arrested for Lewd Conduct at Crowell Public Library

A Los Angeles man was temporarily incarcerated in Alhambra Jail after police arrested him today for “conducting lewd behavior” in the Crowell Public Library, according to a press release from the San Marino Police Department.

Joseph McDaniel McIntosh, 30, was observed allegedly touching himself while sitting at a table in the Children’s Reading Room. A visitor to the library witnessed the incident and confronted McIntosh, who fled the area immediately. The witness notified library staff, who placed a phone call to the San Marino Police Dept.

Officers arrived at the library and searched the surrounding area when a man matching the witness’s description was seen walking near the intersection of Virginia Road and Huntington Drive, approximately a quarter mile west of the library.

Officers checked surveillance cameras and placed McIntosh under arrest without incident when he was positively matched to the footage.

McIntosh was booked on charges of lewd behavior in public and later released on his own recognizance pending his court appearance, which is scheduled for June 21.
