A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 11 for Leslie Noelle Mar, a 2013 graduate of San Marino High School, who lost her life last Friday evening in a hiking accident at Panther Creek Falls in Skamania County, Washington. She was 23 years old.
A wake is scheduled for Friday, August 10 at Glendale Forest Lawn from 4:30 – 9:00 p.m. with a memorial service on Saturday, August 11 at First Chinese Baptist Church, Los Angeles at 2:00 p.m.
A GoFundMe account has been created to benefit the Leslie Mar Memorial Fund. The Mar Family has declared that any donations from the page will be used to establish the Leslie Noelle LienJun Mar Scholarship Fund at San Marino High School.
Leslie is survived by her father Harry and mother Pat Mar, as well as four siblings; sisters Adrienne and Kelly and brothers Stuart and Spencer. All five Mar children graduated from San Marino High School.
After graduating from Washington State University in 2017, Leslie took a job at Fisher Investments in Vancouver, Washington, the state where she developed her appreciation for the great outdoors and the beauty of nature.
“The world has lost a bright light and we have lost a dear friend,” says a passage on her tribute page. “Leslie, you will always be remembered and we will always miss our friend.”
A full appreciation of Leslie Mar’s life will appear in next week’s edition of the San Marino Tribune.
