Chloe Wong, a junior, has been a steadying force for the Lady Titans, who have defeated Monrovia twice in 2020.

Give credit to San Marino High School’s girls’ varsity basketball team. With a league title and the playoffs both off the table, the Lady Titans have continued to battle.
On Wednesday, Jan. 29, San Marino defeated Monrovia for the second time this season, earning a 53-34 road win over the Lady Cats.
On Tuesday, the Lady Titans fought hard during a 63-33 loss to Temple City.
Sophomore Elaina Lee has emerged as a consistent scorer, netting 12 points in an SMHS loss to La Cañada and again in Tuesday’s game. Junior Emily Ting scored a season-high 13 points against LCHS and has been solid on defense and under the boards. Junior Chloe Wong and senior Jocelyn Chang had eight points apiece against Temple City, but the Lady Titans slipped to 2-5 in Rio Hondo League action and 4-15 overall.
Returning from an ankle injury, senior Lisa Lu scored three points against Temple City and has returned to her previous form. Sophomore Elaine Wu, who went to the CIF Sweet 16 in doubles tennis last fall, has found a way to contribute on the basketball court as well, with solid defense and rebounding.
Just two seniors will be lost to graduation, so the cupboard is anything but bare for coach Annie Yee.
