SMHS Executive Assistant Chen Resigns

First published in the Dec. 2 print issue of the San Marino Tribune.

Annie Chen, a ray of positivity and enthusiasm during her tenure at San Marino High School, recently resigned from her position as executive assistant to the principal.
Chen will be moving to the University of Southern California, where she will work in the office of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Chen began at SMHS in August 2017, when Issaic Gates was hired as principal of SMHS and most recently served under Jason Kurtenbach.
“Annie will forever be linked to San Marino High School,” Kurtenbach said. “She gave more than just her time to SMHS, she gave her heart and soul. We are so proud of her and know that she will raise the levels of performance and outcomes at USC the same way she did for SMHS.”
Chen was saluted at a faculty lunch at SMHS before leaving for her new assignment.
