Tang Qualifies for CIF Cross-Country Finals

Senior Anya Tang finished fifth to lead the San Marino High School’s girls’ varsity cross-country team to a ninth place overall finish at the CIF Division 4 preliminaries. Her time was 19:57.
Freshman Kayla Giddings was just 40 seconds behind to finish 12th in 20:37 over the rugged 3-mile course at Walnut’s Mt. San Antonio College.

Freshman Eve Rios finished in 52nd place with a time of 23:28 and was followed by fellow teammates Katelyn Hansa (58th, 24:06), a senior, and Sasha Redshaw (93rd, 27:42).
Tang’s fifth-place finish qualified her for the CIF-SS Finals, where she bested her previous low time at Mt. SAC by 42 seconds but did not advance to the state meet.
