The city of San Marino had its traditional Fourth of July activities back and in-person as thousands attended Monday’s celebration at Lacy Park.
The 18th annual J.P. Blecksmith Memorial 5K Walk & Run opened the morning in memory of U.S. Marine Corps 2nd Lt. J.P. Blecksmith, a former San Marino resident who gave his life on Nov. 11, 2004, during Operation Iraqi Freedom II in Fallouja, Iraq.
The afternoon activities included food booths and the Family Fun Zone, followed by the annual Rotary Club of San Marino parade. The main stage presentations and entertainment included the introduction of the San Marino National Little League all-stars and coaches. The grand finale being a fireworks show accompanied by patriotic music which began shortly after 9 p.m.
