At the Child Educational Center, we believe that creative play and outdoor exploration foster children’s natural curiosity and are some of the best foundations for whole-child development and social-emotional learning.
Our NAEYC-accredited Children’s Programs include the full-time or part-time Infant-Toddler and Preschool Program in La Cañada (ages 2 months to 5 years) and our Preschool Program at Caltech in Pasadena (ages 2.5 years to 5 years). Our School-Age Program serves more than 650 children daily at seven sites in Pasadena and La Cañada before and after school, with full-day care available on many school holidays or closures.
The CEC’s Summer Exploration Camp offers children in 1st through 7th grade outdoor fun and exciting day camp experiences! Camps include Descanso Discoveries, our weekly Summer Exploration Camp at our Oak Grove site in La Cañada, and after-summer school care for LCUSD (ALF) summer school attendees.
