Local Man Helps Habitat ReStore to Reopen in Pasadena

San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity is proud to announce the opening of its third and largest ReStore (22,610 square feet) in Pasadena — with a grand opening slated for May 20.
Twenty years after opening their first ReStore (then called Builders Surplus Store, which closed in 2014) on Fair Oaks Avenue, ReStore is returning to the city of Pasadena with a new location on Sierra Madre Boulevard, promising to provide “Great Stuff at Great Prices for a Great Cause.”
Habitat for Humanity is internationally known for utilizing funds raised by its ReStores to help families build, renovate and repair their homes. The new two-story ReStore at 32 N. Sierra Madre Blvd. is housed in a former Fedde Furniture building, with spacious showrooms featuring gently used and brand-new donated items from the community and local companies.
Items such as furniture, appliances, home decor and building materials will be resold at ReStore for a fraction of the retail price. The ReStore’s selection of premium products (new items, competitively priced) such as paint, flooring, rugs, linens, mattresses and kitchen cabinets are known for their great quality.
“The opening of this new Habitat ReStore marks the latest step in our efforts to provide safe, decent and affordable housing in the San Gabriel Valley,” said Miriam Garcia, director of retail operations for SGV Habitat. “Shoppers can find unique, gently used and high-quality items. But inventory changes frequently, so stop by soon and often. We want to thank our donors, supporters, shoppers and the entire San Gabriel Valley community for welcoming us back to the city of Pasadena.”
“The Fedde family is very proud to have Habitat occupy our buildings,” said Don Fedde, a longtime donor and supporter of San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity. “We send them our best wishes for their continued success as one of the leaders in housing.”
Later this year, the site will serve as the new community drop-off center for donations. By providing donation pickup and drop-off services, ReStores help keep items out of landfills. This location will also feature an online ReStore area called ReStore PLUS where customers can shop items from the online store, in person.
Habitat ReStores rely on donations of new and gently used household items, building supplies and furniture to help Habitat create home ownership opportunities.
To arrange a pickup of a donation, please call the ReStore donation coordinators at (626) 387-6900 or email ReStoreInfo@sgvhabitat.org.
