Crowell Public Library is inviting the community to an open house on Jan. 27 from noon to 4 p.m. for a free event filled with family-friendly activities, special recognitions and an exciting performance.
The open house is organized to celebrate the library’s commitment to fostering lifelong learning and engagement in the community. The formal program will start at 1 p.m.
“We are thrilled to have an opportunity to showcase all of the amazing people, activities and resources that make Crowell Public Library a premier and beloved library for our community,” said Mayor Steven Huang.
At the heart of the festivities, Crowell Public Library will honor The Chinese Club of San Marino as the Community Partner of the Year. Whether through monetary donations or the gift of volunteer time through ongoing partner programs, the club’s efforts have had a significant impact, not just this year, but for many past years. Since 2019, the library has been able to offer 52 programs highlighting Chinese crafts and culture, and added 1,334 Chinese language books to the library collection because of the club’s generous funding.
Among the family-friendly activities, there will be face painting, storytime, creating crochet bookmarks and beautiful crafts, playing with puzzles, crafting DIY tea sachets and button making. There will also be a live performance by A Rock and Roll Circus.
This open house is made possible through the collaborative efforts of its partners: the San Marino Public Library Foundation, the Friends of the Crowell Public Library and the Crowell Public Library Board of Trustees.
“Their unwavering support has been instrumental in creating a vibrant and thriving library community,” the library said in a statement. “Crowell Public Library welcomes everyone to this event. Come and experience the magic of the library, explore new activities and celebrate the spirit of community.”
