San Marino Police Department Crime Report Jan. 21 – 27

A man who was arrested after engaging in a physical altercation with an employee of a store in the 2400 block of Mission Street. Police arrived at the scene at 5:45 p.m. on Jan. 21 and took statements from the two individuals involved. Reports said further investigation was required.

Police responded to the 1400 block of Virginia Road regarding a vehicle burglary at 5:31 p.m. on Jan. 23. Unknown suspects used a tool to break the front driver’s side window and took miscellaneous items.

A woman called police to report that she was the victim of a robbery in the 2100 block of Huntington Drive at 5:23 p.m. on Jan. 25. She told police that she was using an ATM at the location when a man took her ATM card.

A man received virtual threats after he lost an iPhone in November 2023. He told police that he received multiple messages asking him to unlock the phone. At 3:54 p.m. on Jan. 26, he filed a report with police, disclosing to officers that he had received an email from the stranger in possession of his lost cellphone containing threats of harming the victim and his family.

The San Marino Police Department had 566 calls for service between Sunday, Jan. 21, and Saturday, Jan. 27. There were two residential burglaries during this time frame. There have been two residential burglaries reported so far this year. Information was gathered from a department memorandum summarizing key incidents handled during this period.
