San Marino Police Department Crime Report Jan. 28 – Feb. 3

Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of La Mirada Avenue for a burglary investigation at 12:10 p.m. on Feb. 1. According to reports, unknown suspects used tools taken from a nearby detached garage and used them to pry open the back door of the residence. The suspects ransacked the home, took property and fled the location. No suspects were located due to a time delay in reporting.

Police were called to the 1800 block of Huntington Drive regarding a battery call at 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 28. According to reports, a man threw a cup of hot coffee at the victim, burning them. The victim did not want to pursue prosecution and the suspect was released at the scene.

A theft by false pretenses call was made in the 1600 block of Chelsea Road at about 3:15 p.m. on Feb. 3. The victim of the crime claimed he was directed by an unknown suspect to invest in fraudulent stocks.

The San Marino Police Department had 566 calls for service between Sunday, Jan. 28, and Saturday, Feb. 5. There was one residential burglary during this time frame. There have been three residential burglaries reported so far this year. Information was gathered from a department memorandum summarizing key incidents handled during this period.
