San Marino Police Arrest Burglary Suspect

The San Marino Police Department responded to a residential burglary on Feb. 28 at 2:27 p.m. in the 2000 block of California Boulevard, where a woman who was seen inside the home later surrendered to law enforcement without incident.

The homeowner, who initially informed officers that video surveillance at the residence captured an unknown man and woman outside of the property, was alerted to a motion detection notification from the interior of the home. At the time, the resident was not home.

SMPD officers requested a K9 unit, air support and outside agency personnel to respond to the incident. The woman who was seen inside the residence later came out and surrendered. She was arrested on charges of burglary and transported to Pasadena City Jail for booking. The woman was issued an own recognizance citation to appear in court at a later date per the Los Angeles County Superior Court Pre-Arraignment Release Protocols.

The man initially seen at the location is not believed to be connected with the burglary; police later determined the reason the man was seen at the property and he is not a suspect.

This is an ongoing investigation. SMPD asks the public to contact the department calling (626) 300-0720 with any additional information or by anonymous tip via lacrimestoppers.com or (800) 222-8477.
