Softball: San Marino Falls to Champion Temple City in League Contest

The San Marino softball team is looking to turn things around after the Titans dropped their fifth straight game against Temple City on March 22.

San Marino was scheduled to travel to Monrovia on March 27 in a Rio Hondo League matchup before hosting South Pasadena for a league showdown on March 29. The Titans will enjoy a break after their nonleague tussle at home against Alhambra on April 2.

As of March 25, San Marino holds a 3-8 overall record and is winless in the Rio Hondo League through six games played.

The Titans are still searching for their first Rio Hondo League win following their five-inning loss to the three-time league champion Rams.

San Marino senior Sophia Bilvado went 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and a run scored while freshman Mia Kelly went 1-for-2 with an RBI. Titans freshman Sarah Esbenshade recorded a base hit, a run scored and a stolen base, and freshman Madeline Bilvado went 1-for-3 with a run scored and a stolen base.

FLINTRIDGE SACRED HEART 12, SAN MARINO 2

Madeline Bilvado hit a double and finished 2-for-3 with a run scored, while Sophia Bilvado went 1-for-3 with a run scored in the Titans nonleague loss on March 20. Sophia Bilvado stole two bases, and junior Alexandra Hughes and Madeline Bilvado each stole one base.
