The San Marino Unified Board of Education recently announced Mary Hazlett, who was serving as interim principal, will be taking on the official principal title at Huntington Middle School. Prior to being appointed interim principal, Hazlett was the assistant principal for two years under the former Principal Daryl Topalian. Michelle Cota will also drop the interim from her assistant principal title and join the permanent administration for HMS. Both promotions will be effective July 1. At the March 26 meeting, Hazlett (fourth, from left) and Cota (fifth, from left) was celebrated for their promotion by Board Vice President C. Joseph Chang, Chief Technology Officer Stephen Choi, Superintendent Linda de la Torre, Valentine Principal Whitney McAlpine, San Marino High School Assistant Principal Sarah Penalora, SMHS Principal Benjamin Wolf, Board President Shelley Ryan, Board member Joanna Lam and Board member Jane Chon.
