San Marino firefighters recently attended a fireworks seminar hosted by the Orange County Fire Prevention Officers.
The seminar provided live demonstrations of fireworks and special effects, and fire personnel were later tasked with identifying the safety hazards in each display.
Firefighters were also instructed on how to review permits and plot plans, inspect a display site, and respond to misfires and duds.
San Marino firefighters are responsible for reviewing and approving plans for all fireworks displays within the city of San Marino, such as for the annual Fourth of July event and the San Marino High School homecoming.
