Youth Pack 10,000 Meals at St. Edmund’s for Rise Against Hunger

St. Edmund’s Episcopal Church was proud to sponsor a Rise Against Hunger meal preparation event on May 19. About 50 young people from St. Edmund’s, St. James in South Pasadena, Church of Our Savior in San Gabriel and Scout Troop 360 packaged 10,000 meals that will be distributed overseas to those in need by Rise Against Hunger. The event was an initiative of the Edmund’s Institute for Faith and Youth (EDIFY), which was imagined in 2021 as a vehicle for promoting the spiritual well-being of young people through community engagement, formation, service, education and fellowship.

Rise Against Hunger, based in Raleigh, North Carolina, partners with organizations to end hunger.  In 2023, more than 57 million meals were packaged and distributed to more than 3.6 million people around the globe.  For more information, visit riseagainsthunger.org.

St. Edmund’s Episcopal Church and Nursery School is located at 1175 San Gabriel Blvd. in San Marino.  All are welcome.  For more information on our services and programs, visit SaintEdmunds.org.
