San Marino Fire Department put its new rescue ambulance in service this week.
“It was custom-made just for us,” department engineer Nathan Foth said. “It came out just like we wanted. We keep these for 20 years so we want to make sure it’s exactly what we want.”
He said ordering the vehicle was a yearlong process.
Fire Capt. Dominic Petta said the new ambulance is “the best we’ve had” considering the firefighter/paramedics were able to have input in the vehicle’s design.
