Barbara B. Campbell

Barbara Campbell passed away peacefully Friday, January 29 at her home in Pasadena. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth James Campbell. Born in Alhambra, CA, Barbara graduated from Alhambra High School. She went on to attend Pasadena City College and the University of California at Los Angeles, where she earned a teaching degree. Barbara taught school for the Los Angeles Unified School District for many years. Barbara was an avid skier, bicyclist, runner and reader. Her interest in travel took her to Europe and Asia, many times with her bicycle. It was her love of ceramic arts where much of Barbara’s time was spent creating beautiful, creative and functional ceramic pieces. She strived to support artists and the arts community and was active in the Pasadena Art Alliance and Community Center of La Cañada. Barbara’s family and her many friends were her true joy in life. Barbara is survived by her sons Angus MacKenzie (wife Ann Woods) of Denver, Colorado; and Stuart Kenneth (wife Elise) of San Marino, California. She was blessed with four wonderful grandchildren: MacKenzie Ann, John Krogen, Abigail Helene, and Duncan Stuart Campbell. In lieu of flowers, donations (in Barbara’s name) may be made to Pasadena Art Alliance, Pasadena Senior Center or Pasadena Community Foundation.
