William B. Woods

William B. Woods “Bill” was born in Beverly, Massachusetts, on 1-15-31 and passed away on 1-10-21 just 5 days shy of his 90th birthday. During his teenage years he worked for General Patton’s Family, caring for their horses. He was drafted into the Air Force and served during the Korean War. Upon completion, Bill moved to California, where he met his soon to be wife Betty Lou Peterson. He attended school at Cal Poly Pomona, majoring in Landscape Design/Arborist. After graduation he started his own tree trimming company. From there it grew into a very successful landscape design company. He worked for decades in San Marino and surrounding areas. You could usually find him hanging out at the San Marino Grill. Upon retirement, Bill took up watercolor painting. He was also an avid golfer, belonging to the Santa Anita Golf Club, and flyfisherman at the Pasadena Casting Club.
He is survived by his daughter, Cori, son-in-law Scott Solan, and they have one daughter, Inara. His sister Marilyn and many nieces and nephews live in Maine.
