The San Marino Summer Academy’s recent Science Smorgasbord course at Huntington Middle School challenged students in grades 4-7 as they learned about magnetism and electricity, solar power, rocketry and food science, and took part in activities such as blueprint design and construction of balsa wood towers and bridges. All of that made the class — which has been offered for nearly two decades — a strong platform for learning about math, science and engineering topics. Jim Dahlstein was the students’ instructor.
