San Marino School District Approves LCAP

By Krista Daly

The San Marino Unified School District has set a number of goals for the 2015-16 school year, which vary from credentialed teachers to common core standards to technology systems.

“The LCAP (Local Control Accountability Plan) is a collective effort of administration, teachers and parents incorporating all the goals of the district,” said Lisa Link, board of education president.

As part of a state requirement, eight areas must be addressed in the LCAP and input must be given by all impacted parties. The board approved the LCAP during their June 23 meeting.

Link highlighted one goal that was particularly interesting to her – the enhancement of student support services. Though services such as counseling have been in place for years, the district is continuing to provide additional support. A mental health academy will be implemented to help more people spot students who may be having difficulty.
