Progress Slow In Simon Lee Investigation

By Krista Daly

The investigation into former San Marino Design Review Committee and Planning Commission member Simon Lee is going slowly, according to San Marino Police Department officials.

The police have been investigating Lee for possible criminal misconduct since July 13, 2015.

“We’re moving forward, but not as quickly as we’d like,” said Detective Sgt. Tim Tebbetts. At the moment, there is nothing concrete, he said, and the investigation is ongoing.

Tebbetts said he expected results from the crime lab last week for several computers, which were seized after a search warrant was served on July 28. Other cases may have taken priority, he said.

The San Marino Police Department itself had other cases take priority also, but they are still making progress. The police have been in contact with the District Attorney’s Public Integrity Unit and they have been setting up interviews with what could be potential witnesses to the alleged criminal misconduct.
