Stephen Silk to Receive Recognition at Sports LA Fundraiser

San Marino’s Steve Silk will be honored at Stanley Black and Bob Barth’s Sports L.A. this evening along with Scott Minerd of Guggenheim Partners.

The evening benefits the Union Rescue Mission, which provides services to men, women and children who are homeless. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Beverly Hilton Hotel with a reception and continues at 7 p.m. with dinner, prize drawings and a live auction.

Silk is currently a Senior Managing Director of the Real Estate Investment Banking Firm Eastdil Secured (ES) where he specializes in arranging major sales and joint ventures for large institutional owners of office and industrial properties nationwide. He has been involved in some of the largest real estate deals in the nation.

He is a Policy Advisory Board Member for the UC Berkeley Fisher Center for Real Estate and Urban Economics as well as a board member for the USC Center for Real Estate, YMCA Metropolitan District and Junior Achievement of Southern California.

Silk has held an adjunct faculty position at the USC’s Marshall School of Business since 2013. He helped found the Marshall Outreach and Volunteer Entrepreneurs (MOVE) program with Dean of Marshall School Jim Ellis. He still sponsors the MOVE Program, which enables Marshall students to volunteer and participate in community service events.

Silk has also been a key person in raising money for the San Marino Schools Foundation, which supports the San Marino Unified School District. He and his wife of 30 years, Sue, have two children, John and Natalie. Both children attend USC.
