San Marino High School wide receiver J.P. Shohfi on Friday, Jan. 8 was named 1st Team All-American by MaxPreps, a national high school sports website.

Shohfi, a senior, set the national all-time record for receiving yards in a season in 2015 when he caught 121 passes for 2,464 yards and 29 touchdowns, eclipsing the old mark that was set in 1998.

Shohfi was one of four student-athletes under consideration for National Player of the Year honors, which went to linebacker Derrick Brown, of Georgia.

A three-sport athlete, Shohfi is considering offers from Stanford, Vanderbilt, Michigan, Yale, Washington and Washington State.

San Marino High School senior wide receiver J.P. Shohfi set a national record for single-season receiving yardage during the 2015 campaign, according to the National Federation of State High School Associations record book, which was announced last week.

Shohfi caught 121 passes for 2,464 yards and 29 touchdowns, breaking the old mark of Cody Cardwell, who set the previous mark of 2,427 in 1998.
