More than 200 performers will (mostly) glide across the stage of Neher Auditorium on April 28, 29 and 30 when the popular Dancetra! returns to San Marino High School.
Twenty of those are seniors and will be performing for the final time, another 80 are guests and then there’s always “the boys.”
“Particularly the boys,” Dance Director Bonnie Hanson said, “come out each year and perform in these group dances.”
Hanson has a particularly soft spot in her heart for the 20 seniors in the Dance program.
“That’s a pretty large number since the highest levels meet during 6th period, which would normally be off to seniors,” Hanson said. “It’s a big commitment for them.”
There are 32 dances in the show, 85 percent of which is student choreography. Students also run back stage, light cues and sound.
Dancetra! will take the stage on Thursday, April 28; Friday, April 29 and Saturday, April 30 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 for general admission and $10 for reserved seating. For ticket information, please email smhsdance@smusd.us.
