Lemmon Hill will host a champagne reception to celebrate the bi-lingual publication of ‘Practice Happiness: 7 Habits of Joyful Living’ on Wednesday, May 25, at 4:30 p.m.
The book was written by four San Marino women and is based on their popular lecture series entitled “Joyful Living/Happy Life.” Authors Becky Lei, Ivy Sun, Rosa Zee and Vivian Chan have written the book, which is a compilation of essays in both English and Chinese, that discuss ways in which people of all ages and from varying backgrounds can find and achieve happiness.
The authors, who met as a result of their extensive community involvement in San Marino, developed a lecture series based on a 2012 Caltech workshop that was designed to help Asian immigrants transition into their new community. The presentations were conducted at the Crowell Public Library in San Marino and their success led to the publication of the book which provides, among others, relationship-building and communication skills to foster happiness in every day life.
“It is such an honor to host this event and to launch the bi-lingual edition of “Practice Happiness: 7 Habits of Joyful Living” said Lemmon Hill owner Cathy Arkley. “The theme of the book complements the philosophy of Lemmon Hill and the products and design services we offer our clients: helping create happiness through a joyful home.”
