Pereira Signs to Play Tennis at UCLA

Bryce Pereira, a senior at San Marino High School, recently signed a national letter of intent to continue his tennis career at UCLA in the fall of 2017. Bryce is currently ranked #9 in California and 34th nationally.

Pereira has won 3 national championships in doubles at the 2011 Winter National Championships, the 2013 Asics Easter Bowl and the 2015 National Hard Court Championships.

In singles play, he has reached the quarterfinals of the Winter National Championships, the round of 16 at the Easter Bowl, the round of 32 at the National Hard Court Championships as well as the semifinals of 3 national selection tournaments. He has also twice won the overall Sportsmanship Award and was a member of the gold medal championship team for the USTA Pacific Zone team championships. He is also a Southern California Triple Crown winner.

In high school play, Bryce is a back-to-back CIF Boys Individuals Doubles Champion, and was Player of the Year last school year. He also won the prestigious Ojai Junior Tournament in doubles along with San Marino High School teammate Connor Lee.

He also recently teamed up with a fellow future Bruin and won the Boys 18s Southern California doubles sectionals title.

In 2013, Bryce was selected to appear in a television spot for Wilson along with with 17-time major champion Roger Federer, which aired globally during the French Open. Bryce has been fully sponsored by Wilson since he was 10 years old.

Bryce’s father, Melwin Pereira, is the coach of San Marino High School’s boys’ and girls’ tennis teams. Alexis Pereira, Bryce’s older sister, is a junior at Texas Christian University and plays both singles and doubles for the Horned Frogs women’s tennis team.
