Palm Crest Elementary School 1st-graders completed a unit on animals, including bears. They eagerly stitched together their own special teddy bears. In a written exercise, they had to answer questions, such as their bear’s name, length and weight, and what they like to do with their teddy bear. After hearing the story “The Teddy Bear Picnic,” they had their own picnic lunch with their parents, and their teddy bear was their special guest.
