La Cañada Elementary School 5th-graders recently dressed up for their special Thanksgiving feast. With the assistance of parent volunteers, the room was set up to resemble a family feast, complete with holiday decorations and, of course, everyone’s favorite: pumpkin pie with whipped cream. Before enjoying the meal with friends, the students sang “The Gift to Be Simple” and “I Am Grateful.” Proud parents were recording the mini-performance on their cellphones.
