Bob William Lemke

Bob Lemke passed away on Saturday, October 31st, at Glen Terra Assisted Living, where he has resided for the past 15 months. He was 90 years old, just missing his goal of 91 by four days.
Bob was born November 4th, 1929, in West Bend, Wisconsin, to Harvey Lemke and Viola (Alberts) Lemke. He attended McLane Elementary School and graduated from West Bend High School. He went on to attend the University of Wisconsin. He married his childhood sweetheart, Marion Herman, on January 12, 1948. She preceded him in death on December 23, 2001.
While living in West Bend, he worked as a dispatcher for the West Bend Sheriff’s Office and was City Assessor prior to his move to California in 1962.

In California he worked as a real estate appraiser for Downey Savings and Loan and Verdugo Savings and Loan and for the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development.
After his retirement from HUD he served as the Director of the Mary Lind Foundation. He also served on Glendale City Council and was the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Glendale Windsor Club. He married Marilyn Stryker on June 24th, 2009.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn Lemke, daughter Suzan Renner and her husband Roger, son James Lemke, his granddaughter Heather Taylor, and great-grandson Presley Taylor. He was a wonderful, loving man with a very giving heart.
He dedicated 54 years to supporting Alcoholics Anonymous. His sponsorship helped over 100 AA members. His laughter and humor will be missed by all who knew him. May you rest in Peace.
Due to the COVID restrictions there will be no funeral, but we will plan a Celebration of Life at a later date.
