Ann Mary Arrobio | Obituary

Ann Mary Arrobio

Ann Arrobio passed on Sunday, February 21, 2021, in the precious home that she had lived in for over 62 years. She lived in the Glenoaks Canyon and always enjoyed participating in the events held at the Glenoaks Park (pancake breakfasts and dog parades).

A native Angeleno, she moved to Glendale, CA, with her family (Guerino and Carmela Musacco, sister Theresa, brothers Louis and George) in 1938. She entered Glendale High School late in her junior year and was honored to be voted May Queen.

Her marriage to Carlo, in 1943, was a model of everlasting love. Her life was also dedicated to her family, especially to son Charles, and daughter Carol. But she was always quick to brag about the achievements of her grand-kids, nieces and nephews. Her favorite memories included: going to watch Chuck play in USC football games, and spending time at her Wrightwood cabin.

She and Carlo belonged to three Italian clubs: Piedmontese Del Mundo, Garibaldini Society and Cannetto Colony of Saints at St. Peter’s Italian Church. But her favorite “club” was getting together with her cousins every month – to play cards and to share stories. She was a devout Catholic and attended Holy Family Church,

An accomplished artist, she donated many vibrant oil paintings and creative artwork to the clubs and organizations in Glendale. She served as President of the PTA at Glenoaks Elementary and Glendale High Schools. She was also President of the Glendale College Patrons Club and a member of Glendale Beautiful. Her hobbies included gardening, cooking, needlepoint, oil painting, playing cards and traveling with her husband.

She was pre-deceased by her husband Carlo and son Charles. She is survived by her daughter Carol Ann Cannon (Les), and her daughter-in-law Margit Arrobio, grandchildren, Christina Arrobio, Geoff Arrobio (Rebecca), Capt. Peter Arrobio USN (Sarah), Spencer Kirkpatrick (Nicole), Pia Baroncini (Davide), Sean Cannon (Jennifer), Drs. Erin Cannon (Randy Casstevens), Dana Cannon (Will Aarsheim) and 9 great-grandchildren.

Small private funeral service and burial were held at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills. Deacon Steve Greco (Ann’s nephew) officiated. Beautiful eulogies were given by Bill Greco (nephew), Peter Arrobio (grandson) and Dana Cannon, (granddaughter). Athena Greco was the soloist.

On her 100th birthday (June 15, 2021) a Celebration of Life Mass will be held at Holy Family Church (Glendale) at 1 PM. Light refreshments and birthday cake will be served at the Chevy Chase Country Club. If you are planning to attend, kindly RSVP to ccannon60@gmail.com.
