Ronald McDonald House’s Shine Gala Is Oct. 16

Ronald McDonald House Pasadena will host its 17th annual Shine Gala: Moonlight Oasis on Saturday, Oct. 16 at the Annandale Golf Club to celebrate strength and raise funds to support children and families as they heal.
The local organization provides a home-away-from-home to keep families with critically ill children close to each other and their needed medical care. Since opening on Valentine’s Day in 2004, the House has served more than 24,000 children and their families.

Philanthropists, corporate partners and community leaders will gather for a festive celebration to honor Carl Everett, former Ronald McDonald House Pasadena Board chair and community advocate, for his years of dedication and service.
Limited in-person tickets are available for purchase. The event will take place outdoors, rain or shine, and will adhere to all public health guidelines. All attendees are requested to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. For those who prefer to celebrate from home, an option to receive a Shine celebration kit and view a virtual livestream is available.
“Families caring for a critically ill child demonstrate remarkable resilience and perseverance,” said Executive Director Mara Leong-Maguinez. “As we all look forward to the future, we are excited to join together to celebrate strength and new growth. The support of the entire community helps families and children embrace life and healing with a sense of hope, enthusiasm, courage and joy.”
Funds raised through the Shine Gala — co-chaired by Wendy Dougherty and Meredith Petersen — will support the Ronald McDonald House Pasadena mission of providing comfort, care and support to families with critically ill children, keeping them close to one another, their doctors and needed medical care. Sponsors for the event include Jennifer and Chris Allen, the Delphey Family, Megan and Rick Foker, Food Properties Group, LA Financial Credit Union, Lynda and Dale Laurance, San Antonio Winery, Sharp Seating and Shriners for Children Medical Center.
