SMPD Crime Report

Officers were dispatched to the 2100 block of Huntingtin Drive on Monday, Oct. 4, regarding a fraud investigation. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the reporting party, who said that the suspect was attempting to gain access to the victim’s bank account by using a fraudulent identification card. The suspect was issued an own recognizance citation and was released at the scene.

A reporting party wanted to report fraudulent bank activity that happened outside of the country for documentation purposes on Tuesday, Oct. 5. The victim resides in the 500 block of Winston Avenue.

An unknown suspect or suspects smashed a victim’s rear left passenger window and removed unknown items in the 500 block of La Paz Drive on Tuesday, Oct. 5.

Two vehicles were involved in a traffic collision on Tuesday, Oct. 5, at Robles Avenue and Sierra Madre Boulevard. One of the parties complained of pain but refused medical treatment. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Officers were dispatched to the 2300 block of Huntington Drive on Wednesday, Oct. 6, regarding a call about a man refusing to leave the area. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the suspect and, during a consensual search, located a credit card and driver’s license. The suspect was transported to the city of Pasadena jail for booking on charges of false pretenses.
A vehicle was stopped Wednesday, Oct. 6, at Huntington Drive and Sierra Madre Boulevard for a traffic violation. A records check of the driver revealed two outstanding warrants from Los Angeles. The suspect was issued an own recognizance citation and released at the scene.

Officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of Rubio Drive on Thursday, Oct. 7, regarding a male suspect who entered the victim’s rear yard, started burning wood in a fire pit that he made and pried open the rear door to the residence. The victim confronted the suspect inside the home. When officers arrived at the home, they made contact with the suspect who was transported to the city of Pasadena jail for processing and booking on charges of arson, trespassing and residential burglary.

Two unknown male subjects entered a victim’s backyard in the 2600 block of Lombardy Road by unknown means on Thursday, Oct. 7. The subjects fled when they saw the victim opening a window.

An unknown suspect exited his vehicle in the 2100 block of Huntington Drive on Saturday, Oct. 9, punctured a victim’s tires and fled northbound on San Marino Avenue.

San Marino Police Department had 387 calls for service between Sunday, Oct. 3, and Saturday, Oct. 9. There was one residential burglary reported and there have been 21 in total reported this year. Information was gathered from a department memorandum summarizing key incidents handled during this period.
