Beloved ‘Hauntington Breakfast’ Returns This Saturday

The planning for Huntington Middle School’s annual “Hauntington Breakfast” — “Heroes Versus Villains” — is in full swing.
The community-wide event, led by co-chairs Stefanie Killackey and Nancy Ko, is returning in person this Saturday, Oct. 23, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on the HMS playground. (Los Angeles County Department of Health guidelines will be followed, which means masking unless eating or drinking.)

No longer will there be adult volunteers flipping pancakes as food trucks such as Baby’s Badass Burgers, Chano’s Mexican Restaurant, Jones Coffee Roasters, Supamu and the Boba Truck will provide breakfast and brunch fare and beverages. DJ Hem will be spinning music as attendees enjoy brunch as well as the games, rides, attractions and performances from the talent show.
Breakfast tickets have been replaced with universal event tickets, which can be used for food, beverages, games, rides and attractions. Tickets can be purchased the day of the event at the ticket booth, from HMS students or online at HauntingtonBreakfast.com. Tickets are $1 apiece and can be used for food, beverages, games, rides and attractions.
All proceeds raised from this event directly support HMS and enable the school to enrich the educational programs and provide valuable upgrades to its facilities.
“Without this event, many of these enrichment programs would not be offered in our public school setting,” a statement from the school said. “Please consider supporting our school and the education of our children by attending the event.”
Any questions can be emailed to the event chairs at HauntingtonBreakfast2021@gmail.com.
