From Oct. 25-29, Valentine Elementary School held its annual Red Ribbon Week, sponsored by Partnership for Awareness and Valentine PTA.
Event chair Marisa Kelly planned livestream assemblies featuring an inspirational message and basketball tricks taught by former Harlem Globetrotter and eight-time Guinness Record holder Corey the Dribbler to kick off their week. Students and staff enjoyed fun activities, including Crazy Hair and Crazy Sock Day along with writing supportive empathy messages about walking in someone else’s shoes, which were displayed on their Red Ribbon Week school banner.
PfA and PTA also gifted students and staff Halloween treat bags to celebrate their pledge to lead a healthy lifestyle.
